Lucky Peach is a quarterly food journal founded by Momofuku's David Chang, one of the most intriguing and successful chefs of our time.

Each quarterly issue of the journal explores a single theme through essays, art, photography and recipes with regular contributions from Chang and his acerbic cohort Anthony Bourdain.

Published by San Franciscan hip lip publishers McSweeny's, Lucky Peach takes a vibrant and at times hilarious look at food culture with an artistic approach that makes it the most interesting and entertaining food read around. Much like Chang's cooking, each issue is meticulously constructed and brilliantly executed.

Chicken: maybe you’ve always been curious but never experienced it. Maybe it’s on your bucket list to try in 2017. Or maybe, if you’re like us and large swaths of humanity in the last century, you’ve eaten a lot of chicken before and will eat a lot of chicken this year.
No matter what your relationship to the road-crossing little feathered beasts are, we’ve got stories for you in our Chicken issue. In Lucky Peach’s first-ever destination issue, we explore the people, places, and foods that make Los Angeles one of the best places to eat in the world.

There are profiles of the personalities who have shaped the past, present, and future of LA dining: Nancy Silverton, the founder of La Brea Bakery who now runs the Mozza empire; Jazz Singsanong and Tui Sungkamee, the proprietors of Jitlada, a mind-meltingly great restaurant in a strip-mall restaurant in Thai Town; and Jon Shook, Vinny Dotolo, and Ludo Lefebvre, who are building a modern-day Los Angeles restaurant dynasty. Lucas Peterson explores the challenges street vendors face through the story of Caridad Vasquez, the last vendor left on Breed Street; Zan Romanoff checks in with Ron Finley, a self-described “urban gangsta gardener.”
