A New Type of Imprint Vol. 12 is the last magazine in our Nordic series, and takes you to the dark, mysterious Iceland. In addition to meeting a lot of contemporary Norwegian and Icelandic designers and creatives, the issue takes a closer look at The Norwegian National Opera & Ballet.
Chapter Two, on Iceland + the cover illustration is made by the young and talented Viktor Weisshappel — who've interpreted the essence of Iceland in a beautiful way, capturing what defines his country the most; the weather — full of contrast, defined by sundown and sunset / light and dark.
Vol. 11 is all about bright and summery colours and stories. The second chapter has crossed the border to the country famous for midsummer nights, IKEA, meatballs and Volvo (and blondes, according to thelocal.se). But how is Sweden's creative sphere? Is there any great design going on?
YES, most definitely, and we’ve gathered our favourites in a chapter of 54 pages. The chapter is designed by Amanda Berglund and Erik Kirtley, who have interpreted Sweden in a gorgeously fresh and cheerful way! We are in love! The cover is shot by photographer Jeanette Hägglund, and you will of course see a lot more of her work in the issue.
The rest of the magazine takes you all the way from Bergen to Tokyo and back again—telling stories about architecture, art and anything in between.
